Everything here is built for the hours after a day outside. Swim year-round in the indoor pool, in summer at the outdoor one, warm up in the sauna, keep the routine going in the fitness room, then claim a chair on the lawn with the Green Mountains in front of you.
The indoor pool runs all year under skylights and a vaulted wood ceiling, warm in February and quiet enough for a morning swim before the lifts open. The hot tub sits in its own wood-paneled corner just off the pool deck, and the sauna waits a few steps away. Open 9am to 9pm daily.
A pool set in a stone patio in the middle of the lawn, with loungers in the sun, pergolas for the shade, and an outdoor chess board waiting for a challenger. Open 9am to 9pm in season. Afternoons here do not need a plan.
The outdoor fireplace burns under its own pavilion, stacked firewood at the ready and Adirondack chairs pulled up around it. Beside it, a bocce court is set into the lawn. The spot for the hour between the mountain and dinner.
A broad deck on the Mountain View building, up in the sun with the Green Mountains on the horizon: loungers, a long table, and room to spread out. The spot for morning coffee, an afternoon in the sun, and small events by arrangement.
Cardio, strength, and floor space to stretch, with daylight from the windows and a TV on the wall.
The chef-owned kitchen at the front of the Main Inn. Brunch runs Saturday through Tuesday, 9 to 1: a full Irish breakfast, Gerald’s eggs Benedict, stuffed French toast with Vermont maple syrup, and morning cocktails from the full bar. The same team runs the wood-paneled lounge and caters everything from family gatherings to weddings.
Menus and ReservationsPets are welcome in every room type at the Grey Fox, with 7.5 acres of lawn to patrol right outside the door. Bring the whole family; the four-legged members stay for $35 per pet, per night.
